The interactive shop window installation “Löbau – Wie geht’s” (Löbau – How Are You?) was created as part of the German Hygiene Museum Dresden’s ”Museum unterwegs“ (Museum on the Move) outreach program. It invites the people of the city Löbau to bring a mood barometer to life: using their own smartphones, they can anonymously share their current mood. Their responses appear instantly on a monitor. On the back of the installation is a more in-depth, analog survey. This mobile, modular installation is designed for rotating shop-window displays, moving to a new location in Löbau’s city center every three weeks.
Its inviting design—featuring fresh, vibrant colors—ensures high visibility and instant recognition, reinforced by the use of the “Löbau – Wie geht’s” campaign’s corporate identity colors. Graphic elements, such as emoticons displaying various emotions, appear both as printed graphics and digitally on the monitor; their shapes and visual style are derived from the typeface used.
The installation was very well received leading to many daily responses and people being able to pause for a moment and think about how they wer doing.
