RE is the second ep of the musician, theater composer and producer Tom Gatza. The songs combine the tonal beauty of nordic melancholy and eerily beautiful film classics combined with a mysterious atmosphere. Different worlds come together — minimalism and orchestral, neo-classical and post-rock, pop and electronic music. The title RE — which can be completed with the words repeat, rewind or rearrange — is the inspiration for the typographical part of the record cover. When several records are placed under each other they complete the title and artist’s name. The result is a constant circle that reflects the artist’s engagement with himself and his work. The image on the cover illustrates the constant ups and downs, the tender and intimate but also powerful and epic moments of Tom Gatza’s musical cosmos.
