In André Seigers short film The Engineer’s Voice, Konrad Siegers completes his articulation training. Siegers’ muscles twitch barely noticeably as he struggles with the words. He uses repetitive exercises to counter the progression of his illness. The well-organized home is another support against the loss of control. His voice is to be preserved in a speech program, which is important to his father. Her echo sings from the cassette player, the sound of the future is electronic.
The poster addresses the loss of language, voice and the finite nature of existence through fading words, creating an approaching, pressuring silence.
